Fixed Nitrogen (N2) Gas Detector Details

Tips: Maintenance of nitrogen gas detector

    1. Regularly calibrate, test and inspect the nitrogen gas detector. In general, the calibration frequency is once a year.
    2. As the most important part of nitrogen gas detector, the sensor should avoid exposure to the gas generated by inorganic solvents or organic solvents as much as possible. Especially for electrochemical sensors used to detect toxic and harmful gases, the evaporation or contamination of the electrolyte will cause the signal of the sensor to drop and shorten the service life of the N2 gas detector.
    3. When installing the nitrogen gas detector, please do not put it close to the wall, and reserve enough space around it for daily maintenance and troubleshooting.
    4. Ensure that the nitrogen gas detector is in a dry state to avoid affecting its detection accuracy and service life due to the humid environment.
    5. The entire outside of the nitrogen gas detector needs to be kept clean. You can wipe the surface with a soft damp cloth. Do not use a damp cloth dripping with water to prevent water droplets from accidentally splashing into the N2 gas detector.
    6. Dust cover of the sensor is for protection. In order to prevent the dust cover from being blocked by dust and affecting the use of sensor, it should be cleaned regularly.

    Fixed N2 Gas Detector
Can the N2 gas detector measure the N2 concentration in Natural Gas?
    From: Jie | Date: 12/08/2024
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
N2 gas detector cannot measure the N2 concentration in natural gas.
    Inquiry on details
I am planning on using this in the pipe configuration and want to measure Nitrogen concentration in a mixture of Nitrogen and Oxygen gas. If the flow rate is only around 100 mL/min, will the results still be accurate? This is assuming the gas is near standard temperature and pressure.
    From: Elena | Date: 13/06/2024
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
The required flow rate of gas in the pipeline is 400~800ml/min.
100ml flow rate is too small and can Not be used normally.
    Fixed Nitrogen (N2) Gas Detector
Can the sensor be placed in line tubing with pressurized gas? or is this for atmosphere detection only?  Or is there a way to mount the detection point in line with the gas flow?
    From: calebs | Date: 28/11/2023
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
In this case, you need to reduce the gas pressure in the pipeline to 1Bar±10% before it can be used normally, such as installing a pressure regulating device on the pipeline.
Can the external box of gas detector be mounted outside?
I have another question. Will it be electrically classified?
Can the external box be mounted outside?
    From: coco | Date: 25/07/2023
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
Unfortunately, the external box cannot be mounted outside, it can only be mounted indoors. If you want to install it outside, you must install a rain shield, which is equivalent to IP20.
Use environment of nitrogen gas detector
Can we use your Nitrogen gas detector outdoors? Can it trace Niterogen leakage?
    From: Boyer | Date: 27/12/2021
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
    1. Our gas detector (N2) can be used in outdoor environments, but the temperature range is from -20 ℃ to 50 ℃.
    2. Our nitrogen (N2) detector can only detect the purity of 100%vol, but cannot detect the ppm with trace leakage.

How to use the nitrogen gas detector?
When we turn on your N2 gas detector, it shows 78.10% volume, beep and pump is on what does 78.10% signify. According to manual pump, it should be turned if we don’t use how to turn off the pump.
    From: Nickolas | Date: 02/12/2021
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
    A. Since the concentration of nitrogen in the atmosphere is 78.10%, the meter will show 78.10% when it turns on.
    B. Please put the detector in clean air for about 5 minutes and wait for the data to fall down to normal before turning it off after measurement.
Can ATO's nitrogen gas detector work for this?
We suspect that some nitrogen is entering our steam system through leaking valves. I want to test the presence of N2 by cracking a steam valve and putting sniffer in close proximity to steam discharge but not in it. Will gas detector work for that?
    From: Tammi | Date: 07/11/2021
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
Yes, if the steam system pipeline is in a normal air environment, which means that the steam discharge port is in the normal air but no other mixed gas, then the unit N2 portable detector 0-100%VOL can work for that, with no problem at all.
Can the nitrogen gas detector detect pure nitrogen leakage?
Can I use your N2 gas detector to check for ultra-high purity nitrogen leakage?
    From: Tobar | Date: 28/07/2021
Was this review helpful? Yes No (0/0)
    ATO Responded
Yes, N2 gas detector can detect ultra-high purity nitrogen leakage, the detection range is 0-100% VOL.
