RC Servo Motors

RC servo motor also known as radio control servo motor or remote control servo, is an actuator with angular rotation, which is used for closed-loop control execution modules that require constant angle change. The RC servo motor is designed for remote operation of model vehicles. It is small in size, and it can be rotated and held at a certain position or angle in response to a control pulse from a single signal line. Inside the RC servo system, the radio control servo motor consists of a small motor and gearbox to do the work, a potentiometer to measure the position of the output gear and an electronic circuit that controls the motor to move the output gear to the desired position. Because all of these components are packaged in a compact, low-cost unit, RC servo motors are excellent actuators for robots.
