Right angle gearbox is a type of speed reducer, which is driven by gears. Gear types in right angle gearbox include worm gears, bevel gears, spiral bevel gears, spiral worms, planetary gears, etc. The most popular gearbox types are spiral bevel and worm gear box.

The main function of a right angle gearbox is speed reduction and steering, so it is also called steering gear box. The drive shaft (input shaft) and output shaft of right angle gearbox are distributed at an angle of 90-degree. Shafts of a 90° gearbox can intersect in 1 plane or in 2 parallel planes.
