3 Pole Miniature Circuit Breakers

A 3 pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) is an electrical switch used for protecting electrical circuits from overloads and short circuits. It is designed to interrupt the flow of current when the current exceeds a predetermined value, thus preventing damage to the circuit and the connected devices.

The 3P configuration indicates that the mini MCB has three separate poles or contacts that can be connected to three different phases of a three-phase electrical system. Each pole consists of a thermal and a magnetic trip unit, which detects abnormal current conditions.

The thermal trip unit measures the heat generated by the current passing through the MCB and trips the circuit breaker when the current exceeds a certain threshold for a sustained period. The magnetic trip unit, on the other hand, detects high current surges that occur during short circuits and trips the breaker instantaneously.
