    How to Evaluate the Performance of Boost Converter?

    DC-DC boost converter is a power converter used to boost DC voltage to a higher DC voltage. Its working principle is based on the cooperation between energy storage components and switching components (such as transistors), usually controlled by pulse width modulation (PWM) to turn on and off the switches. In this article, we will explore the evaluation tests conducted to assess the performance and reliability of the ATO DC-DC boost converter.

    Output Voltage Accuracy Testing

    Our first test focuses on the output voltage accuracy. For this evaluation, we set up a test circuit consisting of an adjustable DC power supply, a multimeter to measure the output voltage, and an 8-channel relay module acting as the electronic load.

    After connecting the components, we powered on the DC power supply, ensuring that the input voltage was set to 12V. We then configured theĀ digital multimeter to the DC voltage mode and connected the red and black probes to the output terminals of the relay module.

    As expected, the multimeter displayed a voltage reading close to 24V. This confirms that the boost converter is functioning correctly and is capable of increasing the output voltage according to its specifications.

    Waterproof Testing

    Next, we proceeded with the waterproof testing of the converter. For this part of the test, we prepared a basin of water and a stack light, which was connected to the converter as an indicator and powered on in advance.

    We submerged the boost converter fully in the water and observed the stack light. If the light remained illuminated, it would indicate that the boost converter has robust sealing and reliable waterproof performance.
