Existing reviews of Handheld Ammonia (NH3) Gas Detector, 0 to 50/100/500 ppm
Our lab purchased 2 ammonia detectors from ATO. We hope that you can provide information about calibrating the meter and performing a bump test. Could you provide links to products recommended by ATO for calibration and bump testing, along with informative videos detailing the process? How often would you recommend doing a bump test?

1. Under normal circumstances, you only need to calibrate the detector if the readings are inaccurate. Regarding calibration, you can use half the concentration of NH3 gas in the range of the gas detector for calibration.
Regarding the calibration steps, you can refer to this video, see on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr8UfiQe_S8&list=PLlo8RulDRntipAoQ0eNwGr6LKogcxjl5F&index=7
2. The unit you purchased does not have bump test. Only new products have the option of impact testing.
I'm interested in your portable gas detector
I am interested in learning more about your portable H2 gas detector.
1) What are the different micro sampling pump options? I am interested in using a flow rate of around ~10 ml/min to up to 100 ml/min.
2) Can the detector function if the background gas is oxygen?

1. Unfortunately, we do not provide this kind of small pump and there is no suitable recommendation.
2. The detector can work normally when the background gas is oxygen.
I need advice to improve the reading of the gas detector
The pump is on and since we are sending a gas from a calibration in a bottle containing 8 ppm of ammonia, we would see a number different from 0 ppm.
Would you have any advice to improve the reading of the detector?

1. What is the flow rate connected to the instrument inlet?
2. Where is the 8ppm ammonia calibration gas? Where does it start to release?
We think that the pipe is too long, and the gas is absorbed on the pipe.
Flow rate of gas detector to correctly take a sample of gas?
We are currently trying to install the NH3 gas detector that we purchased at ATO a few weeks ago.
I am contacting you because the detector does not seem to detect any ammonia and I would therefore like to ask for some clarifications.
We would like to connect the sensor to a line in which a mixture of hydrogen and a few ppm of ammonia are flowing. What is the suggested flow rate for the detector to be able to correctly take a sample of gas?

If there is water in the pipeline, it will affect the detection of the NH3 gas detector.
If there is ammonia in the pipeline, the NH3 gas detector will read. We recommend a flow rate of 750ml/min.
It will be better if you can provide us with a detection video for further confirmation.
You can send us the large video file via wetransfer.com.
I’m looking for quotes on an ammonia meter
I’m looking for quotes on an ammonia meter that measures 0-1000 PPM.
Battery-powered is preferred but can be 120VAC.
It will need to show instant results and hold the low, high, and average readings.

The resolution is 0.01ppm for 0 to 50 ppm ammonia gas detector.
What is the gas concentration you want to measure?
How much precision do you want the detector?
Gas detector has the same resolution and sensitivity as the 0-50 ppm instrument
I don’t want ammonia concentration to expect in soil gas’s samples. Maybe I should get the 0 -100 ppm instrument since it has the same resolution and sensitivity as the 0-50 ppm instrument? I would like to see /- 0.1 ppm at 1 ppm levels of ammonia.

For our Handheld Ammonia (NH3) Gas Detector
range 0-50ppm
resolution 0.01ppm
range 0-100ppm
resolution 0.1ppm.
Please confirm whether you choose the range of 0-100ppm or 0-50ppm?
The specific measurement range still needs to be confirmed according to the concentration of NH3 in the soil.
Please note that to measure the NH3 gas concentration in the soil.
You can not directly insert the gas detector into the soil for measurement.
You need to put the soil into the bag first, and then measure the ammonia concentration in the bag.
Question for NH3 gas detector accuracy
Thank you for your prompt response.
I see from the table below that this sensor is recommended for the detection of NH3 gas concentration in the air.
Is the sensor still accurate when rather than in air ammonia is in hydrogen (with no air)?

The instruction manual is well written
Purchased the Ammonia Gas Detector for hydrogen sulfide detection in pipeline construction jobs, I used it according to the manual, the product worked well, I found them accurate, easy to use, very portable and good value for money.

Are your handheld ammonia detectors fully handheld?
I would like you to affirm that the ATO handheld ammonia gas detector is cordless and totally hand held. There is a cord out the bottom of it in the picture.

I have some questions about your 100ppm Handheld Ammonia Gas detector.
Hello, I have some questions about your 100ppm Handheld Ammonia Gas detector.
1. What is the outside diameter of the sampling probe at the top of the unit?
2. Can the alarm be turned off so that this can be used as a quantitative detector?
3. What type of sensor is this? Electrochemical, PID etc?
5. Does it have an internal pump to take samples? What is the flow rate of this pump?
