Tips: How does the color spectrophotometer detect the color of the pill coating?
The traditional color difference meter is a visual system that simulates the human eye. Using the analog integral optical system inside the instrument, the three-stimulus values X, Y, and Z of the sample are measured by integral measurement, and then the parameters such as the chromaticity coordinates of the sample are calculated. The accuracy of color measurement by this colorimeter is relatively low. Some products cannot even give the absolute value (L, a, b value) of the color coordinate space of the color. Since there is no absolute value data of color, it is impossible to exchange data with others. You cannot build and manage your own color standard database.
The color spectrophotometer uses the principle of spectrophotometry, which compares the light energy reflected (transmission) of the sample with the light energy of the standard reflection (transmission) under the same conditions to obtain the spectral reflectance of the sample at each wavelength, and then utilizes The standard observer and standard light source provided by CIE are calculated according to the following formula to obtain tristimulus values X, Y, Z, and then X, Y, Z calculate the chromaticity coordinates x according to CIEYxy, CIELab and other formulas. y, CIELAB color parameters, etc. The measured color difference results are more accurate and a color standard database can be created. However, the surface of the drug is irregular and the surface is not flat. Therefore, in the choice of spectrophotometer, we also need to pay attention to different measurement and observation methods.
0/45 degrees can only be used to measure smooth surfaces, and can not be used for computer color matching. The d/8 degree integrating sphere can be used to measure a variety of surfaces and can be used for computer color matching. Also, when choosing, consider whether to eliminate specular reflection, and the measurement mode that includes specular reflection. If both modes are available, it is useful when measuring a smooth surface with a color that clearly reflects the surface.
