Tips: What is a low pass filter?
Low pass filter is an electrical filter device which only allows the signal lower than cut-off frequency to pass, and all the signal higher than cut-off frequency can’t pass. The performance of low pass filter in signal processing is similar to the rolling average performance in finance field. For different filter, the weakening degree of each frequency signal is different. Low pass filter has many types, of which, Butterworth, Chebyshev are often used.
Low pass filter principle is very simple, making use of capacitor to pass high frequency and prevent low frequency, and inductor for low frequency pass and high frequency stop. The principle of low pass filter is, for the cut-off high frequency, prevent it by capacitor absorbing and inductor blocking; for low frequency needed, make it pass via the characteristics of capacitor with high resistance and inductive with low resistance.
