Tips: 3 key parameters of power line filter
For EMI power line filter, rated voltage and current, pressure resistance performance, leakage current are most considered. The main evaluating performance is insertion loss.EMI power filter’s suppression capability for interference noise is evaluated by insertion loss.
- Standard test for insertion loss
It is stipulated in standard measurement method, to test its insertion loss in the system with any resistance value among 50Ω~75Ω.
- Load test of insertion loss
In EMI filter products, because of the unsuitable material used, it is not possible for common mode choke to guarantee fully symmetry, which would lead to saturation of magnetic rings. Meanwhile, parasitic differential mode inductor may possibly generate saturation of magnetic ring. This makes big difference between practical use and manufacturer offering data of the line filter. Therefore, load test for filter is needed.
- EMI filter time domain test
Normally, for EMI line filter, we only concern about its regular performance and frequency domain suppression performance. But for EMI signal linear filter, because transmission wire itself can generate some electromagnetic interference, test signal inevitably generates some attenuation. At the time, we have to do time domain transmission performance test.
