Structure
Tips: Difference between SLC and MLCC capacitor
Micro ceramic chip capacitors for surface mounting on printed circuit boards are usually of two types: single-layer capacitors and multilayer ceramic capacitors. These two types of chip capacitors are widely used in radio frequency circuits and microwave circuits because of their small size.

Compared with multilayer ceramic capacitors, single-layer capacitors have lower series equivalent resistance, high quality factor and high reliability, which can better meet the harsh requirements of electronic circuits in the microwave and millimeter wave frequency bands. And its thickness is thinner, can be widely used in microwave integrated circuits, microwave monolithic integrated circuits, such as: amplifiers, oscillators and mixers, etc., can achieve DC blocking, RF bypass, active bypass, filtering, impedance features such as matching and coplanar waveguides.
There is almost no obvious difference between single-layer capacitors and multilayer ceramic capacitors based on the same dielectric material, except for the size, capacitance, and rated operating voltage of the capacitor. As for which one to choose, it is necessary to match the selection from the layout and size of the circuit board, the size, capacity, frequency, voltage and other actual requirements of the capacitor.
