Detail
What is the dew point?
Dew point temperature (dew point for short) is one of the indicators to measure the water vapor content in a certain gas. Water has the property that it can exist in liquid, solid, or gas under various conditions. To understand the nature of water vapor, we must first know the general nature of the gas. The total pressure (commonly known as the total pressure) produced by any mixed gas is equal to the sum of the partial pressures (partial pressures) of the component gases. This is Dalton's law, which is expressed by formula: Ptotal = P1 + P2 + P3…
The amount of any component gas in the mixed gas can be expressed by pressure. The main components of air are nitrogen, oxygen, and water vapor, so the total atmospheric pressure is composed of the partial pressures of these three gases. The concentration of nitrogen and oxygen is relatively stable, while the concentration of water vapor varies greatly and must be determined by measurement.
The maximum partial pressure of water vapor varies completely with temperature. For example, at 20 ° C (68 ° F), the maximum partial pressure of water vapor is 23.5 mbar. Also called "saturated vapor pressure" at 20 ° C (68 ° F). In a "saturated" environment at 20 ° C (68 ° F), if water vapor continues to increase, liquid water will form. This condensation phenomenon can be used to measure the water vapor content in the gas.
