    Water Pressure Regulator Applications

    Water pressure regulator applications

Tips: How to use water pressure regulator for zoning water supply?

    1. The performance of the water pressure regulator used for fire-fighting water supply should be safe and reliable, and should meet the requirements of fire-fighting water supply.
    2. The water pressure regulator should be selected according to the design flow and pressure of the water supply, and the design flow should be within the effective section of the flow pressure characteristic curve of the pressure reducing valve, and the dynamic pressure at the outlet of the pressure reducing valve should not be less than 65% of the design value when 150% of the design flow is verified.
    3. Each water supply partition should have no less than two groups of pressure reducing valves, and each group of pressure reducing valves should be set up as a backup pressure reducing valve.
    4. The pressure reducing valve should only be set on the one-way flow of the water supply pipe, and should not be set on the two-way flow of the water transmission main.
    5. The pressure reducing valve should be a proportional pressure reducing valve, and when it exceeds 1.20MPa, it should be a pilot operated pressure reducing valve.
    6. The pressure reduction valve should not have a pressure ratio before and after the valve greater than 3:1. When a pressure reducing valve cannot meet the requirements, a pressure reducing valve in series can be used, but the pressure reduction in series should not be greater than two levels, and the second level pressure reducing valve should be a pilot operated pressure reducing valve, and the pressure difference before and after the valve should not exceed 0.40MPa.
    7. The safety valve should be set after the pressure reducing valve, and the opening pressure of the safety valve should be able to meet the system safety and should not affect the water supply safety of the system.

What is the water flow on the outlet side of pressure regulator?
What is the water flow on the outlet side?
70 psi going in for 40 psi coming out, but I need to know the GPM on the outlet side.

    ATO Responded
The water flow on the outlet side depends on the flow at the inlet.
The greater the flow on the input side, the greater the flow on the output side. ATO-WPR-DN40 is also the same.
We have not actually tested the two 1.5'' and 2'' Adjusting Water Pressure Regulators.
So, unfortunately, we do not provide specific flow information.
