What are Types of Motor Alarms?
Motor Alarm Basic
An alarm is an electronic product that reminds or warns us in the form of sound, light, air pressure, etc. that we should take certain actions to prevent the consequences of an event. Alarms are divided into motor alarms and electronic alarms. This blog will introduce motor alarms in detail. A motor alarm is a special alarm directly driven by an electric motor. It converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to make a loud sound. It is usually composed of a motor, a rotor, a circuit board, and a housing. ATO's motor alarm types include wind screw motor alarms, explosion-proof motor alarms, and motor driven siren alarms.
Wind Screw Motor Alarm
Introduction
The wind screw alarm is a commonly used safety equipment on ships. Its main function is to remind the crew by making sounds, and when the wind speed of the ship changes, it helps the crew to adjust the course and speed in a timely manner to ensure safe navigation. The wind screw alarm consists of two parts: the wind screw and the alarm. Among them, the wind screw is an instrument that measures wind speed based on the Lorentz force principle, while the alarm converts the wind speed signal into a sound signal.
Components
- Fan Blade Assembly
It is one of the core components of the wind screw motor alarm. The wind blade consists of one or more rotating blades with fins, which are responsible for measuring the wind speed and converting it into mechanical energy, which is then transmitted to the alarm. - Electronic Controller
It is the conversion center of chemical energy, photoelectric energy, mechanical energy and other energy. Through circuit control, mechanical energy is converted into electrical signals. - Speaker
Converts electrical signals into sound and sends it to every corner of the ship to attract the attention of the crew.
Working Principle
- The working principle of the wind screw motor alarm is based on the relationship between wind speed changes and the rotation speed of the wind blades. When the wind blades start to rotate under the action of wind, they will generate electromotive force under electromagnetic induction, which will be sent to the speaker through the electronic controller and finally converted into a sound signal.
- In this process, the alarm further processes and amplifies the electrical signal through the internal circuit, converting it into a sound signal that can be heard by the human ear; at the same time, the speaker converts the sound signal into compressed gas and transmits it to the cabin and the entire ship area to remind the crew to pay attention to the wind speed changes and ensure navigation safety.
Application
Wind screw motor alarm is widely used in various industrial fields and equipment monitoring systems, such as: workshop machine equipment failure alarm, fire alarm, water level alarm, gas leak alarm. It can also be used in various smart home devices, such as: access control system, anti-theft system, smart appliance control, etc.
Explosion-proof Motor Alarm
Introduction
An explosion-proof motor alarm is a device that can detect dangerous situations such as fire and explosion. Its basic principle is to sense the existence of danger through the detector, convert the induction signal into an electrical signal, and then trigger the activation of the sound and light alarm and other corresponding equipment after being processed and judged by the controller, so as to warn and control the occurrence of danger early.
The Role of the Controller
The controller of the explosion-proof motor alarm is the core component of the entire centralized control system. It undertakes the important tasks of detection, processing, judgment and control. The controller can receive signals from multiple detectors and judge and process the signals according to the preset interactive logic. When the detector detects suspicious gases, smoke and other dangerous substances, the controller will trigger the start of the sound and light alarm and other response equipment in various ways to achieve early detection and control of dangers.
Composition of Centralized Control System
The centralized control system of explosion-proof motor alarms usually consists of multiple detectors, controllers, audible and visual alarms, interlocking devices, backup power supplies and other components.
- The detector is the sensing part of the system, which can detect the presence of various gases, smoke and other dangerous substances.
- The controller is the control part of the system, which can receive sensing signals and judge and control the start and stop of alarm equipment.
- Sound and light alarms It is the intervention part, which can arouse the alertness and attention of those present by emitting high-decibel sounds and flashing bright lights.
Control Process
The control process of explosion-proof motor alarm mainly includes three parts: perception, processing and intervention.
- The sensing part is composed of multiple detectors and is responsible for monitoring the presence of dangerous substances.
- The processing part is implemented by the controller and is responsible for processing and judging detection signals.
- The intervention part is composed of response equipment such as sound and light alarms. When the controller determines that there is hazardous substances exist, the intervention part will issue an alarm to the personnel present through sound, lighting, etc.
Application
- Explosion-proof motor alarms are widely used in high-risk environments such as petrochemical, coal mines, and chemical industries. Its main function is to monitor the presence of flammable gases, steam and other dangerous substances in the industrial production process, and to avoid explosions or fire accidents caused by the leakage of these substances.
- At the same time, explosion-proof motor alarm can also be used in conjunction with other equipment, such as automatic power-off equipment, to achieve intelligent control effects.
Motor Driven Siren
Introduction
Motor driven siren uses an electric motor as the main component of the siren to convert electrical energy into sound. Control equipment is divided into two types: wired control and wireless control. The power supply system is divided into two types: mains power supply and self-power supply. Amplification equipment includes tweeters and flat speakers. Motor driven siren sound frequency is 500±20Hz.
Sound Production Principle
Motor driven siren is mainly composed of a motor, a fixed wheel, a moving wheel and about 10 sound windows. The moving wheel is also called the sounding wheel. The sounding wheel runs at high speed driven by the motor, and its speed can reach 2900r/min. When the sounding wheel rotates, it can drive the air to move and the air is driven out of the sound window of the fixed wheel to create resonance in order to making noise. When it stops working, the sound window can be automatically closed to prevent debris from entering.
Sound Propagation Mechanism
- The sound signal generated by the motor driven siren is first converted into mechanical vibration by the sound oscillator, then amplified by the resonance cavity or loudspeaker and finally propagated to the surrounding environment in the form of sound waves.
- The sound propagation effect depends on the design of the siren and the environmental characteristics. The electric air defense siren relies on mechanical sound generation. Then, through the control device and adjustment device in the siren, the speed of the high-speed motor and the frequency of the vibration medium are regularly adjusted by hand or power supply, forming the high and low and long and short changes of the alarm sound.
- Depending on the output volume, ATO has different models of motor driven siren for you to choose from, one has 123.dB high volume, rated power 2.2kW, working voltage 3 phase AC 380V. The other has optional output volume 123.dB/125.dB, working voltage 3 phase 380VAC, rated power 4kW.
Application
Motor driven siren is an important part of the urban air defense project. It is used for disaster forecasting and emergency notification in disaster prevention and relief and sudden accidents in peacetime, and for civil air defense in wartime. It is the basic means for people's governments at all levels to implement civil air defense command and organize personnel evacuation. It is an alarm that sounds when the city is threatened by air raid to remind people to defend against air attacks.
Summary
There are three types of ATO motor alarms. Among them, the wind screw motor alarm has a higher sound frequency and is suitable for situations where rapid warning is required, such as emergency alarm systems in factories, schools, hotels, flood control. The explosion-proof motor alarm and motor driven siren alarm have a lower sound frequency. The volume is relatively large and suitable for occasions where long-term prompts are required. Such as petroleum, smelting, chemical and other industries, as well as air raid warning systems or natural disaster warnings.
Application scope of motor alarms is of great significance for safety assurance and equipment maintenance. During use, you need to pay attention to the normal operation of the equipment and perform timely inspection and maintenance to ensure the normal operation and longer service life of the equipment.
