Differences between rotary vane vacuum pump and water ring vacuum pump:
- Working principles: The rotary vane vacuum pump uses rotating vanes placed in slots on a rotor, which expand and contract the working chamber as the rotor turns, thus achieving suction and exhaust. On the other hand, the water ring vacuum pump employs a rotor inside a pump casing to form a water ring, and the variations in the water ring’s volume facilitate suction and exhaust.
- Performance: The rotary vane vacuum pump can reach a higher vacuum level and features a compact design with straightforward operation and maintenance. However, it relies heavily on oil, requiring regular lubrication changes. The water ring vacuum pump operates smoothly and quietly, effectively handling gases containing water vapor or corrosive elements, but it offers a relatively lower vacuum level and demands high-quality working liquid (water), consuming some amount of water during operation.
- Application scenarios: The rotary vane vacuum pump is widely used in laboratories, pharmaceuticals, and electronics industries where a higher vacuum level is needed. Conversely, the water ring vacuum pump is suitable for chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries that need to remove large amounts of water vapor or other gases, particularly in environments requiring efficient moisture handling.
