How to Use the Well Pump Correctly?
Tue, Jul 19 by ATO.com
A well pump is an electromechanical piece of equipment that gets installed after drilling or digging a well. Its purpose is to pump the water from your well into the house. An electric motor drives an impeller or centrifugal pump, which pushes water from your well through a jet or pipe.
Proper use of the well pump can prolong the service life of the well pump, so how to use water well pump correctly? ATO will introduce it from two aspects.
Check before starting
- Check whether the steering of the submersible multistage pump is correct, and whether the connecting screws of each part are tightened: whether the packing gland is tight; whether the electrical circuit and belt drive meet the requirements; whether the anti-return device of the chemical pump is safe and reliable; whether the motor bearing, drive Lubrication of the device and the pump seat.
- Check whether the axial clearance of the centrifugal pump is properly adjusted. Before starting, the axial clearance between the impeller and the blade casing must be adjusted so that the impeller does not rub against the blade casing during operation and can meet the performance requirements. The deep well pump uses an adjusting nut to adjust the axial clearance. To check whether the set screw on the axial clearance adjustment nut is tightened, if it is loose, tighten it immediately.
- Check the pre-lubrication of the rubber bearings. Because the still water level in the well is deep. When starting, dry friction will occur between the drive shaft and the rubber bearing, causing vibration and bearing burnout, so the rubber bearing of the drive shaft must be pre-lubricated with water before starting the deep well pump.
Startup, operation and shut down of deep well pump
- Start: When starting, the valve can be opened. The deep well pump generally adopts the depressurization startup. Press the "start" button, and the motor will depressurize and start at a lower voltage.
- Run: After the deep well pump starts for a few seconds to tens of seconds, the pump speed is close to normal, you can press the "run" button, the motor immediately enters the normal speed operation, and the multi-stage pump runs normally. During operation, pay attention to the indications of the ammeter, voltmeter and related instruments. Always pay attention to whether the pump is running stably, whether the water output is normal, pay attention to the changes in the water level in the well, and regularly measure the static and dynamic water levels. The water level of the well is excessively lowered, so that the submerged depth of the leaf is insufficient, air is sucked in, the normal operation of the pump is destroyed, and the rubber bearing cannot even be pumped. During operation, attention should also be paid to the amount of mud and sand in the effluent. After a large amount of mud and sand is sucked by the pump, it will cause mechanical failure and overload the motor. The gate valve should be opened slowly so as not to raise water sharply, and the gate valve should be opened while paying attention to the amount of sand gushing out.
- Shut down: The deep well pump can be stopped by pressing the "stop" button that starts the compensator. Before shutting down, the gate valve on the water outlet pipe should be closed first, and then the power supply should be cut off. When the water in the water pipe does not flow back into the well after the shutdown, the water pump should not be restarted, so as to avoid excessive starting power and failure. Generally, it should be restarted after an interval of 10-15 minutes.
