How to Use Globe Valve?
Globe valve refers to the valve whose closing piece moves along the center line of the seat. According to this form of movement of the valve disc, the change of the valve seat orifice is proportional to the valve disc stroke.
Because the valve stem opening or closing stroke is relatively short, and has a very reliable cutting function, and because the change of the valve seat through the mouth and the stroke of the disc is directly proportional to the relationship, very suitable for flow regulation. As a result, this type of valve is well suited for use as a cutoff or adjustment and throttling. So how to use the globe control valve? In this article, ATO industrial automation will introduce to you.
Once the globe check valve disc is removed from the closed position, there is no longer contact between its seat and the disc sealing surface, so its sealing surface mechanical wear is very small, so its sealing performance is very good, the disadvantage is that the sealing surface may clamp the particles in the flow medium. However, if the disc is made of steel or porcelain balls, this problem is solved. Because most globe stop valve seats and discs are relatively easy to repair or replace, and because the sealing element does not require the entire valve to be removed from the line to be repaired or replaced, this is useful where the valve and line are welded together.
The angle globe valve also has a higher minimum flow resistance than most other types of valves because of the change in the direction of the flow of the medium through the valve. However, this condition can be improved depending on the body structure and stem layout with respect to inlet and outlet channels. At the same time. Because the travel between the globe disc opening and closing is small, the sealing surface can withstand multiple opening and closing, so it is very suitable for frequent switching occasions. Globe valves can be used in most medium flow systems. Various forms of stop valves have been developed to meet the needs of petrochemical, electric power, metallurgy, urban construction, chemical and other departments.
The use of the globe valve is very common, but due to the opening and closing torque is larger, the structural length is longer, usually nominal diameter is limited to 250 mm below, there are also to 400mm, but special attention should be paid to the import and export direction when choosing. Generally, the globe stop check valve medium below 150 mm mostly flows from the bottom of the disc, and the globe valve medium above 200 mm mostly flows from the top of the disc. This is due to consideration of the closing torque of the valve. In order to reduce the opening or closing torque, generally more than 200 mm globe valves are equipped with internal bypass or external bypass valves.
