How to Improve Working Efficiency of Peristaltic Pump?

A peristaltic pump usually refers to a pump with a small output pressure and an output flow of 0~30L/min. It is widely used in pharmaceutical, food, chemical and other industries to transport some sensitive, viscous, strongly corrosive, grinding, high-purity, and certain granular materials. So, when using a peristaltic pump, how should we improve its working efficiency?

Release the pump head pressure tube module when the peristaltic pump stops working

As we all know, the peristaltic pump is by repeatedly squeezing the dedicated peristaltic pump hose, and the suction generated by the rebound of the peristaltic pump hose makes the transmitted fluid move forward (backward) to achieve the purpose of fluid transmission. However, if the peristaltic pump does not release the compression tube module after it stops working, the peristaltic pump hose will be squeezed for a long time, which will cause the elastic loss of the peristaltic pump hose and the service life of the peristaltic pump will be damaged. Therefore, after the peristaltic pump stops working, the pressure tube module should be released in time to let the peristaltic pump hose deal with the natural state.

Reduce the speed and increase the diameter of the peristaltic pump tube

The flow rate of the peristaltic pump is generated by the rotation of the peristaltic pump head. Therefore, when selecting a peristaltic pump, on the premise of satisfying the flow rate, reduce the speed of the peristaltic pump and increase the diameter of the peristaltic pump hose to shorten the hose usage time. It can effectively prolong the service life of the peristaltic pump tube.

Choosing the right peristaltic pump hose

In order to save costs, the area other than the connection of the peristaltic pump head can be used with ordinary hoses corresponding to the fluid to be conveyed. Ordinary hoses can be connected with hose fittings.

The suction produced by the peristaltic pump is produced by the spring back of the hose after the tube wheel assembly of the peristaltic pump head squeezes the hose. Therefore, if the fluid to be transmitted is too long from the peristaltic pump head or the buckle edge of the hose joint becomes smaller, the resistance at the suction end will increase, and the increase in the resistance will hinder the rebound of the peristaltic pump hose and eventually cause a serious loss of actual transmission flow. Similarly, if the hose at the output end is too long or the diameter of the hose joint becomes smaller, the output resistance in the hose will increase, resulting in a smaller output flow.

Therefore, when choosing a peristaltic pump hose connector, the hose connector should not be smaller than the diameter of the pump head mounted hose. At the same time, the inlet of the peristaltic pump hose should be as short as possible.

    About flow

The flow rate should be greater than the actual flow rate when selecting a peristaltic pump. Because the texture of the peristaltic pump tube is relatively soft, the extrusion force and negative pressure generated during its operation are relatively small. If the transmitted fluid has viscosity or the length of the peristaltic pump tube is long, a certain flow will be lost during the period. When purchasing a peristaltic pump, the theoretical flow rate should be higher than the actual flow rate.

Cleaning of the peristaltic pump housing and peristaltic pump tubing

During the use of the peristaltic pump, pay attention to cleaning the debris on the pump casing and pump tube. Since the peristaltic pump is a relatively precise instrument, it mainly relies on the pump casing to maintain a high-precision clearance, thereby squeezing the pump tube. It will change the compression gap of the pump head, even a small change will cause excessive and premature wear of the pump tube, which will seriously affect the pump head and cause damage to the pump head.

Regular inspection to prevent damage to the pump tube

When the peristaltic pump is in use, it is necessary to regularly check the wear of the pump tube. Because the peristaltic pump tube is a vulnerable part, once it is damaged, it will cause liquid leakage. Therefore, it is necessary to check the surface of the pump meter in time to ensure that the pump has an early grinding port to prevent the pump tube from being damaged.

    Selection of pump tube material

When choosing a peristaltic pump, pay attention to whether the liquid to be transported will corrode the pump tube. Because the pump tube is made of many materials and conveys many types of liquids, no pump tube can withstand all liquids, so you need to confirm the type of your own liquid, compare it through the chemical compatibility table or ensure the pump tube through the immersion test.
