    How to Adjust Timer Relay?

The main function of a time relay is to act as an actuator in a simple program control, when it receives a start signal to start the timing, after the timing is over its operating contacts are opened or closed, thus driving the subsequent circuit work. Generally speaking, the time delay performance of a time relay is adjustable within the design range, thus making it easy to adjust the length of its delay time, so this article will tell you how to adjust time relay.

    Time relay wiring method

    1. Control wiring
You consider it as a DC relay, look at the picture, 3, 7 used to connect 12V control voltage; 2, 7 used to connect 24V control voltage; where the 7 as the negative terminal of DC, when used to the zero line; 2 connected to the 220V fire line.
    2. Working control
Although the control voltage is connected, whether it plays a controlling role is decided by the timer on the panel.
    3. Functional understanding
It is a switch, single knife double-throw, there is a movable point movable arm, just like the common gate switch movable arm, 8 is the movable point, 5 is normally closed point, when the relay is not moving, they are two connected, when the action, 8, 6 connected.
    4. Load wiring
The zero or negative pole of the power supply is connected to the zero or negative pole of the appliance, the fire or positive pole of the power supply is connected to 8 pins, the fire end or positive pole of the appliance is connected to 6 pins, and 5 pins are idle.
    5. Principle
When the timing of the timing relay is invalid, 8 and 5 are connected, which is equivalent to our usual light switch disconnected state, when it is valid, the relay will be operated, 8 and 6 are connected, and the appliance will be powered to work, which is equivalent to our usual light switch connected state.

How to adjust the time of timer relay?

    1. Adjust the static core and armature between the non-conductive shims
Non-conductive shims of different thickness change the working air gap, air gap changes, the armature closed after the stable flux also changed, because the flux in normal operation is close to saturation, air gap change is not much on the size of the stable flux almost no effect, but access to a certain thickness of the shim will make a significant change in the residual flux, thus changing the position of the flux change curve, in the release of the spring tightness of a certain situation, the release flux Therefore, increasing the thickness of the shim can reduce the delay time; conversely, it will increase the delay time. Non-conductive shims are generally made of phosphor bronze sheet, thickness of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3mm, this method of adjusting the delay is a step adjustment, so it is used for coarse adjustment.
    2. Adjust the release spring
The tighter the release spring, the greater the reaction force, the easier to open the armature, the smaller the delay, and vice versa, the looser the release spring, the greater the delay, the release spring adjustment has a certain limit, can not be unlimited loose release spring to achieve increased delay, because the spring is too loose, the delay will be inaccurate, and even the armature will not be released; the same can not make the spring too tight, so as to avoid the armature can not be absorbed, this method can be continuously smooth adjustment, so for fine tuning.
