    Brushed DC Motor Basics

A brushed DC electric motor is a rotating electrical machine containing a brush device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy or converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. The brush DC motor is the basis of all motors. It has the characteristics of fast starting, timely braking, smooth speed regulation in a wide range, and simple circuit control.

    Brushed DC Motor Price List

The working of brushed DC motors relies on the interaction between the stator and rotor electromagnetic fields, which are controlled to periodically generate attractive and repulsive forces between the stator and rotor, thereby causing motion. A brushed DC motor has a large number of coils wound around its armature, and the resulting strong magnetic field interacts with an external magnetic field to generate rotational motion.

How to Drive a Brushed DC Motor?

When the brushed DC motor is working, the coil and the commutator rotate, but the magnetic steel and the carbon brush do not rotate. The alternating change of the current direction of the coil is accomplished by the commutator and the carbon brush that rotate with the motor. Compared with brushless motors, brushed motors have fewer wires, just one positive and one negative wire. If the BDC motor needs to be reversed, just switch the position of the two wires and it will be done.

What is a Brushed DC Motor?

A brushed DC motor is a rotating motor that converts DC electric energy into mechanical energy or converts mechanical energy into DC electric energy with a built-in brush device. Different from the DC brushless motor, the brush device is used to introduce or draw DC voltage and DC current. BDC motor is the basis of all motors, which has the characteristics of fast starting, timely braking, smooth speed regulation in a large range, and simple circuit control.

Brushed DC Motor vs. Brushless DC Motor

DC motors are mainly divided into brushless DC motors and brushed DC motors.
    Brushed DC motor
DC motor is famous for its good start-up performance and speed performance, in which brushed DC motors use mechanical commutator to make driving simple, see the model diagram shown in Figure 1.
The motor is mainly composed of a stator made of permanent magnetic material, a rotor (armature) wound with a coil winding, a commutator and a brush. As long as the brush A and B at both ends of a certain direct current, the motor commutator will automatically change the direction of the motor rotor magnetic field, so that DC motor rotor will continue to run.
