Features

  1. High performance and low consumption
3.8 kW brushless DC motor is three phase electric motor, which especially suited for application requiring higher efficiency and power density.
  2. Wide application range and good control effect
BLDC motor works with a matching controller (ATO-KBL) may achieve simple to complex control, turn from CW to CCW, and meet various communication requirements (RS232, RS485, CAN, etc.). BLDC controller can be controlled through 0-5VDC analog signal to adjust the speed.
  3. Wide control speed torque range
Brushless DC motor works with a gearbox (choose inline gearbox or right angle gearbox with gear ratio from 3:1 to 200:1) effectively reduce the motor's speed and moment of inertia to increase torque in your application, because the gearbox can control the start/stop and change speed in time.
  4. Low noise and smooth operation
Brushless DC motor has no brushes, no sparks will be generated during operation, which greatly reduces friction.
  5. Good protection performance and continuous duty (24/7)
5 hp BLDC motor kit adopts a new type of sealing device, which has good protection performance and strong adaptability to the environment, and works continuously in harsh environments such as corrosion and humidity.

Tips: Different Working Principle between BLDC Motor and Stepper Motor

BLDC motor
The BLDC motor uses semiconductor switching devices to realize electronic commutation, that is, it uses electronic switching devices to replace traditional contact commutators and brushes. The brushless dc motor has the advantages of high reliability, no reversing sparks, low mechanical noise, etc., so it is widely used in high-end audio recorders, video recorders, electronic instruments and automated office equipment.

Stepper motor
Nema stepper motor is based on the principle of electromagnets to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. It is driven by coils wound on the slots of the motor stator. The biggest difference between a stepper motor and other control motors is that the stepper motor can receive digital control signals (electric pulse signals) and convert them into corresponding angular or linear displacements. It is actually an executive element that completes digital mode conversion. Moreover, it can be open-loop position control. Input a pulse signal to get a prescribed position increment.

I need some advice
The actual output requirements that I need are 25.5Nm, 1374 rpm. Do you offer a 2:1 right angle gearbox for this motor? That would get the speed requirement where it needs to be while keeping torque in the right ballpark as well. Otherwise the output will be only 1000 rpm which is too slow. Please advise.

Unfortunately, the minimum speed ratio of our right-angle planetary reducer is only 3:1, and there is no 2:1. So the output speed can only be 1000rpm after configuring the reducer, or you can enlarge the capacity of the motor and reduce the motor speed to about 1300rpm through control.
Question for 48V motor
1- For the ATO-BLDC-3800R3 (the 48V 5HP DC motor), does the power also drop if we control the speed to be 1000rpm?

2- Can speed be regulated via CAN during operation? (For the 7,5kW motor you suggested last email and fot the 5HP motor we discussed in the prior emails).

1.Yes, For the ATO-BLDC-3800R3, the power also drop if you control the speed to be 1000rpm, this is the same as the 5KW motor.
In fact, the brushless motor can only maintain full power at the rated speed. If the motor speed is reduced, the power and torque will decrease at the same time, and the output torque will be very small below 500rpm.
So if you want the motor to maintain the same rated output torque at different speeds, we recommend you use a servo motor.

2. The ATO-BLDC-3800R3 can adjust the speed through Can during operation without any problem. But the 500W motor is Not suitable.
I want to know about the 12V motor
1- What is the mechanism to regulate velocity in the 12V motor (taking into account that we cannot control the operation via CAN)?

And I want to add a question about another motor, the 48V 5kW DC motor, model
ATO-180WDM16030.

2- If we buy it with its matched controller, does it allow us to to have the 5kW output at 1500rpm (instead of the 3000rpm which is it rated speed)?

3- Does it allow to soft start and to control the operation via CAN?

Thank you very much!

ATO Responded
1. The speed of 2V motor can use analog potentiometer, analog signal 4-20ma/0-10v, PWM signal, etc.

2. For a 5kW motor, if the speed drops to 1500rpm, the power of the motor will also drop by about half. The controller can soft-start the motor through analog signals, and the acceleration and deceleration time can be set before leaving the factory.
So if you want the motor to maintain 5000W power at 1500 rpm, you need a motor with more capacity, such as this one:https://www.ato.com/Content/doc/bldc-motor-180mm-series/
