Tips: The difference between flexible coupling and rigid coupling

    1. Different characteristics
Flexible couplings are couplings that can compensate for the axial and radial displacements between the connecting shafts, while rigid couplings are couplings that cannot connect the axial and radial displacements between the shafts.
    2. Different structure
Compared with the flexible coupling, the rigid coupling has a relatively simple structure, while the flexible coupling has a relatively complex structure. It is more suitable for the situation where the concentricity of the two shafts is not good, and it is especially suitable for the situation with torsional vibration. The elastic structure has the effect of damping vibration. Rigid couplings are relatively suitable for situations where the concentricity of the two shafts is good, and the price is relatively cheap.
    3. Different assembly requirements
The shaft concentricity error of the two shafts of the rigid coupling needs to be within 0.05mm, and a more accurate coaxiality error value is required, while the flexible coupling for the coaxiality error of the two shafts can be within 0.1mm, and it is required at the same time. The distance between the drive shaft and the pump end must be 5~10mm.

    Durable rigid coupling
I have been using this rigid coupling for a while and it has shown no signs of overheating, wear or damage. It is very durable. It works very well on my motor drive and has not slipped or failed.

    Fits well with no problems
I use it as a coupler and it works great! Tolerances are tight enough that the two shafts are perfectly aligned without any wobble or offset at the low rpm they are used for.
