Tips: Main function of insulation resistance tester
1. Repair the defective parts
Technicians use the Megger to verify the high insulation resistance between conductors and ground or between adjacent wires. By testing the insulation resistance of different components of the system (transformers, switching devices, wires, motors), the technician can isolate and repair the parts that have failed.
2. Improve system performance
Before powering the system, use the insulation tester to verify that the system is sound and can improve the performance of the system.
3. Found manufacturing process problems and equipment defects
Insulation testing can be used to detect manufacturing process problems and equipment defects that are generally not detected before equipment failure. In the European Union, the insulation test is mandatory, even for the smallest civilian systems.
