Tips: Why do you need a industrial camera lens?
The industrial camera lens is equivalent to the role of the pinhole in the pinhole imaging. But what are they differences? On the one hand, the light transmitting aperture of the lens is many times larger than the pinhole, and it can receive more light in the same time, so that the industrial camera can obtain proper exposure in a short time (milliseconds to seconds). On the other hand, the industrial lens can focus the beam and produce a sharper image on the camera than pinhole imaging.
Fixed focus lenses are commonly used in machine vision, and the aperture is manually adjusted and generally does not allow automatic adjustment. The industrial camera lens has two rings - focus ring and aperture ring, to prevent accidental touch. Two rings of industrial lens have locking screws. Please note that the focus ring is not used to adjust the focus, but to adjust the image distance to ensure that the clear image falls on the focal plane.
