Tips: Different types of limit switch
Direct-acting limit switch: The working principle of the direct-acting limit switch is similar to that of the control button, except that it uses the bump on the moving part to hit the push plunger of the limit switch. Direct-acting travel switch is produced by the moving machinery colliding. When the operating plunger is bumped, the internal micro switch is compressed and pressed inward. When the machine is moved away, the limit switch is reset under the action of the internal spring.
The advantage of plunger limit switch is that the structure is simple and the cost is low. The disadvantage is that the opening and closing speed of the contacts depends on the speed of the built-in plunger. If the built-in plunger moves too slowly, the contacts cannot cut off the circuit instantaneously, so that the arc stays on the contacts for too long, which is easy to burn out the contacts. Therefore, plunger limit switch should not be used in situations where the travel speed of the operation object is less than 0.4m/min.
Plunger limit switch composition: Plunger, built-in spring, move-disconnect contacts and move-connect contacts.
Roller rotary limit switch: This switch adopts a roller rotary structure with instantaneous action, which can reduce the burning of the arc to the contact and ensure the reliability of the movement. Roller limit switch is suitable for low-speed moving machinery.
There are two types of roller travel switches, one is a single-roller limit switch, and the other is a double-roller limit switch.
- Single-roller travel switch
When the stopper of the moving machine is pressed onto the roller of the limit switch, the transmission lever drives the rotating shaft, so that the cam pushes the built-in plunger, and when the built-in plunger hits a certain position, it pushes the built-in switch to move quickly. When the stopper on the roller is removed, the return spring resets the roller limit switch.
- Double-roller travel switch
The double-roller limit switch also called as fork lever limit switch. It cannot be restored automatically. Fork lever limit switch relies on the reverse movement of the moving machine to restore. When the stopper reverse hits the other roller, the limit switch will be restored.
Composition of roller travel switch: Roller, upper arm, spring, sleeve, pulley, pressure plate, contacts and horizontal plate.
