Details
Tips: What is the difference between Hall current sensor, current transformer and shunt?
The shunt is an exact resistor that can pass through a large current, and when the current flows through the shunt, a microvolt-level voltage appears at both ends of it, and the microvolt-level is used to measure the voltage, and then the voltage is converted into an electric current. The measurement of the high current is completed. The shunt is very simple, can only measure DC, do not need power supply, output signal is DC 0-75mV, it is simply a resistor.
Current transformer is the proportional transformation of high currents into standard small currents (5A or 1 A) using for standardization and miniaturization based on measuring instruments, protective equipment and automatic control equipment. At the same time, current transformers can also be used to separate high current systems to ensure the safety of people and equipment. Current transformer is based on the principle of mutual inductance that can only detect the current in 50Hz power frequency, do not need the power supply, the output signal is generally AC 1A, AC 5A.
Current sensor is based on Hall principle, which is divided into open-loop and closed-loop. It can measure AC, DC, high frequency, harmonic and other currents can be measured, it need to connect external power supply. The output signal can be 4-20mA, 0-20mA, 0-5V, and 0-10V and so on.
