Tips: Different betwwen Single-turn and Muititurn Absolute Encoder.

The multi-turn rotary encoder is made on the basis of the single-turn absolute rotary encoder through the principle of mechanical transmission and the mechanical principle of clock gears. The multi-turn encoder signal output includes parallel output, serial output, bus type output, and transmission-body type output.
Single-turn absolute encoders provide a range of 360 degrees (single-turn). When the drive shaft rotates more than 360 degrees, subsequent output characteristics will be identical to the first lap. (Example: output at 361 degrees = output at 1 degree; output at 720 degrees equals output at 360 degrees.)Single turn absolute rotary encoder
Multi-turn encoders provide ranges in excess of 360 degrees by measuring additional revolutions. The output signal is based on the number of revolutions and the position of the drive shaft within one revolution. For example: the output signal/value after 3.5 (starting at 0) turns will be seven times higher than the output after half a turn.Multi turn absolute rotary encoder

Existing reviews of Absolute Encoder, 10 Bit, Multi-turn, RS485/ CAN
Reasonable 10 bit absolute encoder.
Overall the encoder looks well built, has firms detents and is a good value. I've been testing these now for a few days on my bench and they seem reliable. The action is smooth, with reasonably noticeable detent points.
