Tips: Basic principle of single phase isolation transformer gas protection
Gas protection shows the gas quantity and oil flow velocity in a fault. When the single phase isolation transformer internal fault occurs, the local high temperature at the fault point increases the oil temperature of the transformer and expands the volume, air in the oil is discharged to form an ascending gas. If an arc is generated at the fault point, the isolation transformer oil and insulation materials will decompose large quantities of gas, which flow from the tank to the oil conservator. The more serious the fault is, the more gas it produces, and the faster flowing speed of the oil to the oil conservator. The gas quantity and oil flow velocity can directly reflect the character and severity of single phase transformer faults, so light gas acts on the signal when the gas quantity and oil flow velocity are small. When the fault is rather serious, the oil flow velocity is fast and heavy gas protection acts immediately on a tripping operation.
