Existing reviews of 50 hp (37 kW) Soft starter, 75 A, 3ph 240v/400v/480v
I plan to use a greatly oversize unit to be certain that I can make the required number of reversals for one part of the application that could exceed your 20/hour limit. Since your unit is not fan cooled and the larger sizes are a tolerable price. If necessary, I could provide a little forced ventilation.

We do Not recommend frequent soft start for more than 20 times. Because this may cause the internal thyristor to heat up severely and damage, even if an external fan is added for cooling. So if you want to start the motor frequently, would you consider using a VFD to control the motor? VFD can increase the capacity and have its own fan for cooling. It would be better if you can provide us with a picture of the motor nameplate label and tell us what the load is that is driven.
We purchased a 50hp 480V soft starter last year and finally got around to installing it.
Upon start up it powered up and started the motor but would shut off after about 20-30 seconds.
We tried several different settings but could not get it to remain running
The application is a submersible motor and turbine pump.
The motor is 40Hp
Any help or guidance is appreciated

We need your feedback on the following information to better support you:
1. Please send us the nameplate pictures of the soft start and motor. And tell us how far away is the submersible motor from soft start?
2. Please send complete wiring pictures of our soft starter and motor.
3. Please provide us with a video to confirm how the soft start operation works. What is the fault code that occurs during operation? You can send us the large video file via wetransfer.com.
Regarding wiring, you can refer to our demonstration video, see on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkSo1DOBHlM

Yes, sure. This soft starter remote control can be done via (wires + switch), therefore, you can use 120V to control a relay, and then control the start and stop of the soft starter through the contact switch of the relay. It is a very simple control method.
