ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) Selection for Waterproof BLDC Motor
- The speed of BLDC motor does not exceed the speed of ESC, it can be matched and used.
- Brushless DC motor speed calculation formula: battery voltage * motor KV value.
Brushless DC motor stator speed calculation formula: motor KV value * battery voltage * motor pole pairs.
- The limit speed of V4 series ESC is 60000 ERPM.
The limit speed of V6 series ESC is 15000 OERPM.
- If the maximum speed of BLDC motor exceeds the speed of electric speed controller, the ESC can also be matched by reducing the working voltage of motor. But we do not recommend this, because it does not really play the role of brushless DC motor.

Tips: Precautions for using waterproof brushless DC motor.
- When the service life of waterproof brushless DC motor bearings expires, vibration and noise of the motor will increase significantly. At this time, check the radial clearance of the bearing and replace the bearing in time.
- When disassembling the waterproof BLDC motor, rotor can be taken out from the shaft extension or non-extended end. If the fan is not removed, the rotor should be removed from the non-shaft extension end. When extracting the rotor from the stator, prevent damage to the stator winding or insulation.
- When replacing the winding, note down the form, size, number of turns and wire gauge of the original winding. If these data are lost, they should be obtained from the manufacturer. Changing the original design windings at will can easily deteriorate the performance of one or several items of the waterproof brushless DC motor, or even make it impossible to use.
