Is there anything I can try in the settings to give it a better chance?
I did try it last night with all the default settings. It started to turn the motor for about 5 seconds but then my generator quits and says under voltage and under frequency on my generator panel. It is so close to working. Is there anything I can try in the settings to give it a better chance?

If the voltage on site is unstable, we recommend that you replace it with a more powerful generator drive.
Can soft starter work at 240 volts?
So, I got the unit a couple of days ago and then put it in today.
It immediately overloaded the generator and the generator turned off.
I had set FB=1 and FP=30. Did you all install the device to make this work with 240 volts?

What is the KVA capacity of the generator you are using?
If the generator capacity is too small, it may trip due to overload at the moment of starting.
You can set the soft start to the current limit start mode.
Please set F9=0 (current limit mode), F5=200, FP=27, and test again.
Look forward to your reply.
I need help for measuring voltage
I have a 30 hp (22 kW) Soft starter, 43 A, 3ph 240v/415v/480v that I’m trying to start up. The bypass contactor was not needed for our project.
The motor will run for 10 to 15 seconds and then shut down with no error codes. The motor is a 15 HP, 3ph, 460v 20.5 FLA. I have changed the parameter FP to 22.
I also noticed that when I start the motor up, the AMP spike into the 60 – 70 range. And on the voltage screen, I see 502 to 515 when I measured voltage. I had L1 – L2 470, L2 – L3 470.6, L1 – L3 470.6. I would like phone support when I'm on-site if possible my number is (951)212-6926.

The soft starter you bought needs to be used with a bypass contactor.
The rated current of the selected bypass contactor is about twice the rated current of the motor, and the coil voltage is 110V or 220V.
For soft start and bypass contactor wiring, please refer to our demonstration video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qYIfI6EaE8

Yes, our soft start can work with this motor.
Could you give us feedback on the following information so that we can solve the problem ASAP:
1. Error Eorr 04 is a phase loss at the input. After turning on the power, please check whether the R, S, and T terminals have three-phase 240V voltage (check whether R-S, R-T, and S-T have three-phase voltage).
2. If there is No problem with the input power, please provide us with a video of the soft starter starting for further confirmation. You can send us the large video file via wetransfer.com.
3. Please refer to the attached video. After disassembling the case, measure the impedance of the internal thyristor, and provide us with the measured data for further confirmation. Thank you for your understanding.
4. Please send us the nameplate label picture of the soft starter for further confirmation.
Are there soft starter instructions for remote on/off?

For remote on/off, you can use an external push button switch to connect to the control terminal 7#-10# to achieve.
Please refer to the attached wiring diagram, and our demonstration video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkSo1DOBHlM
You can also refer to the attached manual.
I do not know what is wrong?
I have the red phase of 240 volt wired to A1 and A2. I have FB=1 and FP=30A. I got an error message that 7 and 10 were open, so I wired 7 to 10.
When I hit stop/reset and then run, the motor starts to turn for ½ second and then stops. The message I get is error 04 – input lost. See attached photos. I do not know what is wrong?

We think there is nothing wrong with your wiring.
Please follow the steps below to continue checking:
1. Error 04 is a phase loss at the input. After turning on the power, please check whether the R, S, T terminals have three-phase 240V voltage (check whether R-S, R-T, S-T have three-phase voltage).

How to set the rated current?
Regarding the current setting, how specifically can I set FP=the rated current on the motor nameplate?
I gave you a picture of the name plate attached – what is the rated current?
How do I set it? I assume I do this before I provide power to the motor?

Your motor nameplate shows that the voltage of the motor is 208-230V, and the corresponding current is 27.2-24.6A.
If the common voltage of the soft starter is about 230V, you can set FP=25A.
power source and your certificate
1. The power support from Emergency generator, when motor stop but motor inertia rotation still ongoing in this time the motor like a small generator power source to the soft start device, in this case is there any effect to the emergency generator? or can damage soft starter?
2. what certificate of your soft starter device do you have? please list all of them and send to me.
Thanks!

1. It will not affect the generator, nor will it affect the soft start.
2. There is CE certification, etc., please contact us by email before the detailed information.
This 30 hp soft starter has been used for a while. Easy for installation, and my motor starts up smoothly after using it. No longer have to worry about circuit breaker tripping.
