ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) Selection for Waterproof BLDC Motor
- The speed of BLDC motor does not exceed the speed of ESC, it can be matched and used.
- Brushless DC motor speed calculation formula: battery voltage * motor KV value.
Brushless DC motor stator speed calculation formula: motor KV value * battery voltage * motor pole pairs.
- The limit speed of V4 series ESC is 60000 ERPM.
The limit speed of V6 series ESC is 15000 OERPM.
- If the maximum speed of BLDC motor exceeds the speed of electric speed controller, the ESC can also be matched by reducing the working voltage of motor. But we do not recommend this, because it does not really play the role of brushless DC motor.

Tips: Airtightness and waterproof detection for brushless DC motor housing.
Brushless DC motor housing is an important part of the motor product. The main function of shell is to fix the rotor shaft, and to protect the motor from rainwater and other liquids from entering the motor to cause a short circuit. In a humid environment, normal motor housing materials are easily corroded and rusted under the action of water. Waterproof performance of BLDC motors depends largely on the shell. After the brushless DC motor is corroded by water, it will be unstable or the whole machine will be scrapped, so the waterproof shell of a motor is very important. The airtightness of the motor housing is determined by air tightness testing.
The air-tightness and waterproof detection of brushless DC motor shell can be realized by a dedicated testing device. Parameters of the airtightness and waterproof testing equipment of the motor housing can be set according to the requirements. Due to the particularity of motor shell, it is necessary to customize the corresponding special mold for air tightness and waterproof testing. Put the waterproof BLDC motor into the mold and test it by inflating. The airtightness and waterproof testing equipment of the motor shell uses compressed air, which can achieve rapid testing.
