    Notes

    • It is recommended to install an exhaust valve on the top of the riser to make the pressure reducing valve work more smoothly.
    • Before installing the pressure relief valve, check the valve for unusual items and be sure to flush the pipeline.
    • Installation method: Horizontal or vertical installation, single valve set.

    Pressure Relief Valve Application

Pilot operated pressure relief valve application

Tips: What is difference between pressure relief valve and pilot-operated pressure relief valve?

Process pressure exerts an opposing force on the disc. When the process pressure force on the disc overcomes the opposing spring force, the disc lifts and the valve begins to relieve pressure. In contrast, a pilot operated valve uses process pressure to keep the valve closed until set pressure is reached.

    Please recommend pressure relief valve
We have a boiler that by design ranges from 20~400 psig. Its nominal pressure range is 20-350. We have a tub washer machine that has a max inlet pressure of 150 and a planned pressure relief valve that would be after the regulator that I’m looking for set to between 140 and 150.
The regulator we want will be able to regulate to below 140 with a safety margin ideally 130. The flow we require at the minimum is 1400 lbs/hr and that needs to be at the 20 psig range. Ideally we want this done in a single valve however we are not against using multiple valves to do this however we want when the valve is fully open to have the least pressure drop across the valve as possible. Do you have any recommendations?

    ATO Responded
Our pressure reducing valve can only reduce pressure from a fixed pressure to a fixed pressure. Your inlet pressure is not fixed, and the valve cannot automatically adjust to the appropriate pressure, so there is no suitable recommendation.
