Existing reviews of 3 hp VFD, 1-Phase 220V to 3-Phase 380V VFD
At this time changing motors is not really a viable option. What setting could you recommend to allow a soft start ramp up over say 5s or so and then run the pump at full speed until required pressure is reached and then perform a soft shutdown from 100% down to say 50% over say 10s then sleep? That should eliminate the chances of running the motor at low speed for excessive periods of time.
Also, does it make any difference to use VI (voltage input) versus CI (current input) for the pressure signal. VI would make troubleshooting easier. What settings might we change for thus? With all the discrepancies between the manuals it is difficult to know which one to use. This is why I am asking you to suggest settings or tutorials. Is it advisable to use the dynamic self-learning with this configuration and if so what do I do after it reads -FUN-?

1. Sorry, we do Not have any experience with single-phase motors for constant pressure water supply.
We suggest you set the sleep frequency (lower limit) P6.39 to a higher setting, set it to above 30Hz. Reference setup manual: https://www.ato.com/Content/doc/VFD-quick-setup-manual-and-application.pdf
2. Use VI (voltage input) and CI (current input) as pressure signals. They have the same effect. The difference is that one is an analog voltage input and the other is an analog current input.
3. Self-learning is only available when the three-phase asynchronous motor uses vector. If the single-phase motor uses self-learning, there will be problems.
Please, I bought an ATO VFD to reduce the speed of my electric motor to 1800rpm from 3450 rpm.
The manual that came with it says solar inverter. I tried to follow the steps in setting it up and I could get it to work.
Please, I would appreciate it if someone could create the time to take me through setting up this VFD / electric motor project.
Find attached photos showing the VFD and my electric motor.

Sorry to have bothered you.
This model of VFD is customized by solar inverter. It can achieve single-phase 120V input and three-phase 220V output.
About using, VFD red line and green line connection input 120V. U, V, W connect to the power line of your three-phase motor, parameter setting please note that FE-00=0, (PV function is turned off), you can refer to the attached document for a quick setting guide.
To run a 3hp 3ph motor of single phase do you need a 3 hp vfd or one that is overrated?

It based on motor rated current. Please send us your motor rated voltage and current. And what is your available supply voltage (VFD input)? So can recommend you the most suited drive.
