Tips: Reasons for poor contact of the AC magnetic contactor

Poor contact of the AC contactor will increase the contact resistance between the moving and static contacts, resulting in excessively high temperature of the contact surface, and causing the surface contact to become a point contact, or even non-conduction. The reasons for this failure are:

    • There are oil stains, flower hairs, and foreign objects on the contacts.
    • Because of long-term use, the surface of the contact is oxidized.
    • Defects, burrs or metal swarf particles caused by arc ablation.
    • There is jamming in the moving part.
